How you view your folders and files in Windows XP can be altered and set to a default view. This can help you navigate your folders and files quickly.
If you have created shortcuts on your desktop more than likely some of them use the same icon. For example: a shortcut to ANY folder (no matter the name of the folder) will always use the same folder icon. You can change the icon to easily differentiate between the shortcuts.
After creating desktop and/or keyboard shortcuts for applications or shortcuts, to open a folder or new e-mail, your desktop can become cluttered. Creating a folder to hold all of your shortcuts can help to clean up your desktop and stay organized.
