Receiving an alert for every e-mail that arrives can be very distracting. You will need to disable all the sounds on your iPhone or iPad in a couple different areas.  This will ensure you only receive the alerts you want to receive. This process is shown on iPhone, but works the same on iPad. The process works in iOS 8 and iOS 9

*If you would like to receive alerts for email from your boss (or just a few individuals), you can assign them a VIP status, and turn on alerts for VIPs only.
