How to Use ‘Advanced Filter’ to Select and View a Specific Set of Data (Excel 2010/2007)

This operation allows you to extract specific data for review. You can create a ‘set’ of specific criteria to use to ‘Filter’ the data. In this example we will pull out specific information from a list of employees. We will create criteria that will display employees that were employed before a specific date, make more than $40,000 and work in one of three departments.  This will work the same in Excel 2010 and Excel 2007.

How to Change the Contents of Multiple Non-adjacent Cells at the Same Time (Excel 2010/2007/2003)

If you have multiple non-adjacent cells and you need to make a change the contents in the cells at once, there is an easy way to do this without copying and pasting the new data. How to Use ‘Select Visible Cells’ Function (Excel 2010 & 2007)

If you have hidden cells (individual, rows, or columns) in Excel, and you try to select or copy only the visible cells, you will end up selecting the hidden cells as well.  This tutorial will show you how to add “Select Visible Cells” to the Quick Access Toolbar and to use the command to select ONLY visible cells.  This command is not in the Ribbon, which is why it has to be added to the Quick Access Toolbar before using it.  This will work the same in Excel 2010 and Excel 2007.
