Steve’s Blog – Pro Digest Week 12

Even when you manage your time well using  the “15 saves 60” axiom, you may still have occasions that take you “off track”. For instance, do you ever get interrupted during your day? How we deal with interruptions is crucial to our productivity and delivery of positive results.  Obviously, there are several types of interruptions and we need to have a consistent process for addressing each type. Let’s start by looking at interruptions that come in through an incoming call to your smartphone.

  1. You can respond to the call with a pre-formatted text response.
  2. We recommend setting up three of your most common responses. Some examples are:a) Sorry I am not available. Can I call you later?
    b) I am on a call right now, can I call you back in few minutes?
    c) I am going into a meeting, can I call you when I am out?

For iPhone users, you can change those messages under Settings > Phone > Respond with text. Note:  The default messages will be grayed out; you can tap and type in the field to change them.

For Android users, you can change those messages under Settings > Applications > Call (or Messages) > Call Rejections.  Note: This is for an Samsung phone running Android 7.0; your settings menu may be different, please reply to this email if you have questions.

There are several other kinds of interruptions that you are probably running  into and we will address those in the coming weeks.
